The Renegade Rum Distillery is one of the first all new distilleries to be built in the Caribbean in generations. The project is based at Conference, Grenada.
Designed to harmonise the best modern equipment with traditional distilling, it’s an environmentally-friendly, state-of-the-art new distillery, using only fresh sugar cane to produce an uber-premium aged rum for export.
We are looking for a good engineer to manage the distillery and mill operations as part of the senior management team.
Initially the engineering manager will work with the process and utility teams and civil/building services team during construction, to co-ordinate procurement and on-site activities during this building phase.
This will include process validation and Hazard and Operability studies (HAZOP) plus factory acceptance tests (FAT) for equipment and control elements.
This role will require the recruitment, management and training of engineering and maintenance team for the on-going operation of the distillery.
As part of the commissioning team you will work with specialist process, utility, electrical and control engineers from around the world to get the plant ‘up and running.’
We are looking for someone with a strong logical approach and excellent problem solving skills; a strong engineering background either in mechanical, electrical, chemical or process control (probably to 3rd level); and with several years experience in a manufacturing, production or engineering environment, preferably in food/drinks industry.
This is a perfect opportunity to develop a complete understanding of the process equipment as the distillery grows ‘from the ground up’.
